Unlike otherMoreFinding Peace When Lifes Manual No Longer Makes Sense is the first of two books written by author Victoria Joyce. I shy away from labeling it an autobiography, since it is so much more and so uniquely and powerfully written. Unlike other personal stories, the author, Victoria Joyce, shares her spiritual journey in a way that has the reader feeling as though they are traveling along the path right beside her. She openly shares what she has gone through-numerous back to back losses several times, betrayals, tremendous financial obstacles and even homelessness, more than once. Victoria Joyce also shares how she found herself barely healing and grieving from one loss only to find another tragedy awaiting her around the next corner. Trying to make sense out of confusion due to the insurmountable obstacles, she often found herself at odds with the world around her with no visible answers to the situations she was faced with. Through self evaluation, the help of therapists and spiritual leaders in a quest to discover what character flaws she had that kept leading her to face disaster after disaster, she realizes that the losses and changes in her life were largely not self inflicted, which only led her to even more questions without answers, all of which she vividly shares in her writing. Victoria Joyce also shares about overcoming alcoholism, bi-polar disorder, and being diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Lyme Disease, and Multiple Sclerosis, all chronic disabling illnesses, as well as having an almost three-year battle obtaining disability benefits. Her testimony alone is inspirational, but the main purpose for her writing and what she hopes will have the greatest impact, is how sharing her experience will help others overcome their own emotional and mental obstacles while on their own journey through life. The author candidly and eloquently expresses her pain, fear, and anger-even at God, frustration and confusion. Yet she is forced to turn that anger into acceptance in order to walk through the fires and valleys in her life to attain inner peace and comfort. Through Gods grace, wisdom, omnipotent power and love, the author also learned to receive Gods unconditional love and acceptance after a childhood of false beliefs, feelings of not fitting in, being inferior, feeling different and unloved. There are victories along the way as God takes her to a place where deep down in her heart she knows that no matter what happens in life, He will always be there and provide for her. This realization will hopefully encourage and inspire others who are suffering and walking through their own fires and valleys. The author has also inspirationally conveyed how much God loves us and wants the best for us. The author will also have you laughing along the way as you experience firsthand the peace and joy that she shares with you. It is recommended that you bring a highlighter along to make your copy of her story your own, highlighting what speaks to you along the way to aid in your own healing. Warning - hold on tight and fasten your seat belts. You are about to embark on one heck of a roller coaster journey. Finding Peace When Lifes Manual No Longer Makes Sense is recommended reading for anyone who has suffered loss. You will find the journey continued in Victoria Joyces second book - Heart Tugs, Hugs & A Few Tug of Wars, also highly recommended reading.
